Biotechnology and Micro Biology :
Pharmaceutical microbiology is an applied branch of microbiology. It involves the study of micro organisms associated with the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. Minimizing the number of micro organisms in a process environment excluding micro organisms and microbial by products like exotoxin and endotaxin from water and other starting materials and ensuring the finished pharmaceutical products is sterile. Other aspects of pharmaceutical microbiology include the research & development of anti-infective agents, the use of micro organisms to detect mutagenic and carcinogenic activity in prospective drugs and the use of micro organisms in manufacture of products like insulin and human growth harmony.
