Pharmaceutical Chemistry PG Lab :
Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Medicinal is a discipline at the intersection of chemistry and pharmacology involved with designing, synthesizing and developing pharmaceutical drugs. Medicinal chemistry involves the identification, synthesis and development of new chemical entities suitable for therapeutic use. It also includes the study of existing drugs, their biological properties, and their quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR). Pharmaceutical chemistry is focused on quality aspects of medicines and aims to assure fitness for the purpose of medicinal products.
The Pharmaceutical Chemistry lab is well spaced having all required facilities like necessary water and gas supply, fuming hood, exhaust fans, arrangement for handling corrosive substances, distillation assembly, oven, thermostatic water bath, hot plate, charts, etc.
The lab is directly attached with a balance room and an instrument room. Instrument room houses important instruments like polarimeter, colorimeter, refractometer, conductometer, pH meter, potentiometer, melting point apparatus, etc.
